The Apple Remote trigger is used in conjunction the Apple infrared remote control sold with most Mac OS X computers shipping today. Each button on the remote can be configured as a trigger when, and in some cases, the buttons may be configured to trigger if held. Additionally the + and - buttons can be configured to trigger when released.

  • Trigger when (popup menu): Use this menu to select the primary button that will cause the trigger to fire. The choices correspond to the buttons on the Apple Remote.
  • Repeat (checkbox): Select Repeat to indicate that the trigger should continue to fire repeatedly while the defined condition remains true. (only available for the + or - button)
  • Pressed / Released (radio buttons): Indicates whether the trigger will fire as the primary button is pressed or released. (only available for the + or - button)
  • ...for at least (slider): Use to select the minimum amount of time the button must be held (or released) before the trigger fires. The range is from 0 seconds (immediately) to 6 seconds. (only available for the + or - button)
  • Fallback (checkbox): Used to indicate that this is a fallback trigger.

  • ButtonCode (number): A numeric identifier for the primary button. Values are:
    • 1 - + button
    • 2 - - button
    • 3 - |<< button
    • 4 - |<< button (held)
    • 5 - >>|button
    • 6 - >>| button (held)
    • 7 - Play button
    • 8 - Play button (held)
    • 9 - Menu button
    • 10 - Menu button (held)
  • ButtonName (text): The name of the primary button
  • Delay (number): The amount of time (in seconds) the primary button has been in it's current state.
  • RepeatCount (number): The number of times a repeating trigger has fired.
