Ethernet (trigger)

Generate triggers whenever your airport ssid or ethernet address changes. This could be used (with a hypothetical "Location" task, or the shell command "scselect LocationName") to change your system settings based on whether your computer is at home or at work. For wired machines, it might be used to update a dynamic ip address name server whenever your dynamic IP address changes.

There is an example of this idea using the launchd services of Mac OS X by Onne Gorter.

• Any change occurs
• Airport network name changes
• Wired ethernet address changes
• Airport ethernet address changes

[edit] Values

• Airport network name (SSID)
• Wired ethernet IP address
• Airport ethernet IP address
• NAT address (what your IP address appears to be outside your local network)
