Wow, I just discovered Proxi and it is great! It seems to be the solution I have been looking for to script screen messages. One question I have is how is the size of the window determined? I need them to be much wider as I am making large messages that can be read from across the room. They seem to expand vertically as needed, but be a fixed horizontal size. Is there a way to specify the horizontal size or can this function be added?

Also, I have not been successful adding images. I get an applescrpt error saying it can’t make my file into type TIFF or picture. I’ve made them in Photoshop and saved as .tif or .pct but Proxi doesn’t seem to like them.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

The width of the screen message window is clamped to no more than 1/2 the width of the screen. At the moment there is no way to adjust this setting, but we’ll see what can be done about adding control of this to a future release. I’m not sure I follow what exactly the problem is you’re having with images, but you may want to check the Proxi wiki and see if there answers that may help you there:

What I’d really like to see in Proxi is an application monitor:- a trigger that operates when an app launches or quits, or even activates or hides. iKey has this, but I’m loving the RSS, Mail and iTunes Monitors too much to go back!

Thanks for the suggestion and compliments Marcus. I’ll see what can be done.
