iNotify v0.07
link: iNotify v0.07
In this update:
- Additional undo support added
- New artwork
- Ability to run in UI element mode (no dock icon or menu bar)
- Skype support. Both trigger and task
- Saved state (visibility) of main window
The big addition is support for Skype. However, Skype’s framework is not yet a universal binary so the module does not live in iNotifyCore.bundle. If you’re running on an Intel Mac, you won’t have Skype support. Sorry.
Speaking of Skype, you can contact me on Skype at somegeekintn. That’s also my AIM screen name if you’d rather contact me that way.

Wow this is excellent! I’ve set it up to control front row via the airclick and to monitor itunes track changes. I wasn’t expecting such i nice ui. I can’t think of too many things to improve but i’ll try to think of as many as i can…
Screen message:
- When artwork is not available i get an annoying [artwork] in its place
- Try using the default aqua wallpaper in place of the background text in screen message
- How about a simple box set to the size restraints instead of the blue oval so text can be placed centred horizontally if that makes sense…
Airclick:
- Can a button simulate holding down a key? that would be nice for scrolling down lengthy lists in front row
Key Press
- When i tried to set the task to my front row activation key front row popped up so i had to change it in system prefs. is there a way around this?
Well thats all i can think of right now. I’ll test it some more once this pounding headache goes away.

Thank you so much for the compliments! Made my evening.
As for the feedback:
- When artwork is not available i get an annoying [artwork] in its place
Our choices are:
1. annoying [artwork] (it’s even more annoying if you’ve scaled the artwork then you get something like: [Artwork:{MaxWidth = 128; }]
2. perhaps an annoying broken image picture like this?
3. or we can just have an empty space. note: this one is really really easy to implement
- Try using the default aqua wallpaper in place of the background text in screen message
Something similar was brought up by a coworker. I’ll try and have this changed for the next release.
How about a simple box set to the size restraints instead of the blue oval so text can be placed centred horizontally if that makes sense…
I think I know what you’re saying here. I’m trying to work out an “advanced” screen message task to allow greater flexibility with the positioning of text, images and so forth. But for now, you can center your text (and values) from the Format menu. You can also constrain image sizes by clicking the popup arrow in an image value token (aka blue oval thingy… I really need a better name for those).
- Can a button simulate holding down a key? that would be nice for scrolling down lengthy lists in front row
This is another one of those items I’m awaiting inspiration on. I’m not real thrilled with the way this was implemented in the original AirClick software. If nothing comes to me fairly soon, I’ll add a repeat checkbox to the AirClick trigger and implement it the same way… I may need to do this for the Hotkeys as well.
- When i tried to set the task to my front row activation key front row popped up so i had to change it in system prefs. is there a way around this?
Not at the moment sadly. I have a similar problem with ⌘-Tab. I want to setup my PowerMate to bring up the app switcher, rotate to move the selection, and click to choose the app. I’ll have to see if there is some way to grab those events before the system does. At worst, I can add some more predefined keys to the Key Press menu.
Well thats all i can think of right now. I’ll test it some more once this pounding headache goes away.
Sorry to hear about the headache, I hope I’m not responsible
Thanks again for the comments.
